I suspect that "The Dreibund" event title and description becomes "The Death of King George V" because the game first reads EVT_300_NAME and EVT_300_DESC (corresponding to the Dreibund) from event_txt in config folder of mod1914, then reads EVT_300_NAME and EVT_300_DESC (corresponding to King George) from new_text file in config folder of vanilla DH, thus overwriting the former.
Maybe adding a blank new_text file in config folder of mod1914 could fix this issue?

That's an engine bug in first priority. I will inform Martin the DH programmer. Nice catch!

Edit: Could you look if the strings are duplicate in Mod1914's folders?

The game load strings from preset list of text files. It has to open and read ALL files. It does not care where the file is from (mods folder or root) as long as the file is accessible. It doesn't care of file content either as long as the structure is maintained (empty files are acceptable too). It expects there to be no duplicates in IDs for the game to work properly. If there are duplicates there's no guarantee which string will appear in the game.

If there's a conflict you should either rename the string or make sure that the file with the unwanted string is not loaded (i.e. create a file with the same name into your mod folder).
